Yes, Gate has a current MiCA register entry supervised by MFSA in Malta, dated Sep 2025. Malta’s MFSA authorised Gate Technology Limited in September 2025 for six services, including custody, operating a trading platform, both exchange services, order execution and transfers.

Gate Technology Limited in Msida, Malta, holds Gate’s MiCA authorisation. The Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) authorised it on 29 September 2025. The ESMA register lists six services: custody, operation of a trading platform, exchange of crypto-assets for funds, exchange of crypto-assets for other crypto-assets, execution of orders, and transfers. ESMA lists every other EEA state as a host state.
Gate’s EU user agreement, last updated on 23 September 2026, names Gate Technology Ltd, company number C 89337, as the operator. The agreement says the company also holds an MFSA payment institution licence and serves EU and EEA users through passporting. The ESMA register gives gate.com/en-eu as the entity’s website.
The EU site at gate.com/en-eu offered spot trading, Convert, Earn and staking products, euro SEPA transfers, card purchases and OTC trading when we checked it on 14 October 2026. It listed no futures or perpetual contracts. The MiCA authorisation covers crypto-asset services only, and it gives no permission for derivatives.
The global gate.com user agreement lists France, Germany, Malta, Spain, the Netherlands and Austria among its restricted locations. Users in the EU should therefore check that their account sits with Gate Technology Limited and the EU site, not with the global platform.
The EU site also showed a conversion from USDT to USDC. On 8 October 2026 ESMA said authorised CASPs must stop services in stablecoins that do not comply with MiCA, apart from a time-limited wind-down.
Malta is the home state of the authorisation, so the MFSA supervises Gate Technology Limited for clients in every EEA state. Host state authorities do not issue their own licence for passported services. Under Article 102 of MiCA, a host state authority that suspects a breach can refer it to the MFSA and ESMA, and it can take precautionary measures if the problem continues.

MiCA applies conduct and disclosure rules to the registered EEA entity for the recorded service. Safeguarding duties depend on which service and entity hold client crypto-assets or funds. Article 75 covers custody liability for attributable loss and caps that liability. MiCA does not provide a deposit guarantee, and crypto-assets can lose value.
