297 authorisation records covering 293 firms across 26 EEA home states, per ESMA’s official register — synced 17 July 2026. This is the complete list, not just exchanges: it includes banks (Commerzbank, Clearstream), brokers (Trading 212, Interactive Brokers), payment firms (Ripple, Circle) and market makers alongside the retail platforms. The 96 consumer exchanges we track in depth link through to full detail pages; the rest are shown exactly as the register lists them.

Source & method

Data comes from ESMA’s official interim MiCA register file (CASPS.csv ↗), which ESMA updates roughly weekly. We group authorisation records by legal-entity identifier (LEI), keep the earliest authorisation date per firm, and merge service codes across records. Snapshot synced 17 July 2026 — always confirm a live entry in the ESMA register ↗ before acting. Corrections are published in the changelog.

Common questions

How many CASPs are in the ESMA register?

As of 17 July 2026, ESMA's official register lists 297 authorisation records covering 293 firms across 26 EEA home states. The register changes weekly as national regulators grant new authorisations.

Is this the official register?

The official register is published by ESMA; this page is an independent, easier-to-read snapshot of that data, re-synced from ESMA’s file and dated. For any decision, verify the live entry with ESMA — the official data always wins.

Why do I see legal entities instead of brand names?

The register lists the authorised legal entity — Kraken appears as Payward Europe Solutions, Crypto.com as Foris DAX MT. Where ESMA lists a commercial name, or where the firm is one of the exchanges we track, we show the brand and link to our detail page.

What do the service letters mean?

Each authorisation covers specific crypto-asset services, lettered a–j in the register: custody (a), operating a trading platform (b), exchanging crypto for fiat (c) or other crypto (d), execution (e), placing (f), order reception/transmission (g), advice (h), portfolio management (i) and transfers (j).
