Pionex MiCA status in detail

Pionex does not hold a verified MiCA CASP licence. Marketa Trading Inc. operates Pionex under arbitration seated in Belize. Pionex’s terms state that the Singapore entity is not the operator. The terms restrict the Netherlands, Spain and France but no other EEA state. Pionex is not on the ESMA CASP register.

Practical effect: Pionex has no verified CASP authorisation. Check the contracting entity and any separate permissions before you rely on MiCA conduct, safeguarding or complaint rights.

If you hold funds on Pionex

  1. Read Pionex’s latest notice for your country. It sets any account restrictions and withdrawal deadlines.
  2. Move assets to a wallet you control or to a MiCA-licensed exchange. Send a small test transfer first and check the network.
  3. Keep statements, transaction IDs and the date of each withdrawal.
  4. If a withdrawal fails, write to support and report the firm to your national regulator. The MiCA warning list shows whether a regulator has already flagged it. Read when an exchange can freeze your funds.

Which Pionex entity serves EU users

The Pionex terms of service, effective from 9 July 2024, name Marketa Trading Inc. as the operator of pionex.com. The terms state that neither Pionex Pte. Ltd. nor Pionex Inc. operates the platform. Disputes go to arbitration seated in Belize. The terms restrict the Netherlands, Spain and France, and no other EEA state.

No entity for pionex.com appeared in the ESMA CASP snapshot dated 6 October 2026. The French AMF added www.pionex.com to its crypto-asset blacklist on 10 April 2025. Users in the 27 EEA states that the terms do not restrict can still sign up with an operator that holds no MiCA authorisation. We found no Pionex announcement that moves EEA users to an authorised entity.

Pionex, Webot and the MiCA register

The ESMA register does list Pionew Ireland Limited, trading as Webot. The Central Bank of Ireland authorised it on 18 December 2025 for custody, operation of a trading platform, exchange of crypto-assets for funds, and transfers. ESMA lists Germany, France and Lithuania as its host states.

Webot describes itself as formerly Pionex US. We could not confirm a corporate link between Pionew Ireland Limited and Marketa Trading Inc. The Webot authorisation does not cover pionex.com, and an account on pionex.com does not sit with the Irish entity.

The Irish Examiner reported on 3 July 2026 that Webot, based in Cork, held its MiCA authorisation and was expanding across the EEA. The article did not mention Pionex. On 25 August 2025 the Central Bank of Ireland warned about a clone of Pionew Ireland Limited that used other websites and WhatsApp contact. That warning concerns impostors, not the authorised firm.

Common questions

Can I still use Pionex from the EU?

MiCA does not itself make account holding illegal. National and product rules can still apply. Since 1 July 2026, an in-scope provider generally needs an Article 63 authorisation or an eligible Article 60 notification route. Pionex can apply location restrictions or close user accounts.

Is money on Pionex protected under MiCA?

Pionex has no verified CASP authorisation. Do not assume that MiCA conduct, safeguarding or EU-regulator complaint rights apply to the service. Verify the contracting entity and any separate permissions.
