Blofin MiCA status in detail

Blofin does not hold a verified MiCA CASP licence. BloFin is an exchange that focuses on derivatives. Its terms of use name no EU entity and restrict no EEA state. France’s AMF has listed blofin.com on its blacklist since December 2024. BloFin is not on the ESMA CASP register.

Practical effect: Blofin has no verified CASP authorisation. Check the contracting entity and any separate permissions before you rely on MiCA conduct, safeguarding or complaint rights.

If you hold funds on Blofin

  1. Read Blofin’s latest notice for your country. It sets any account restrictions and withdrawal deadlines.
  2. Move assets to a wallet you control or to a MiCA-licensed exchange. Send a small test transfer first and check the network.
  3. Keep statements, transaction IDs and the date of each withdrawal.
  4. If a withdrawal fails, write to support and report the firm to your national regulator. The MiCA warning list shows whether a regulator has already flagged it. Read when an exchange can freeze your funds.

Is BloFin MiCA licensed?

No BloFin entity appeared in the ESMA CASP snapshot dated 6 October 2026, and BloFin is not on ESMA’s list of non-compliant entities. We found no public BloFin announcement of a MiCA application. BloFin focuses on crypto derivatives, which fall under MiFID II rather than MiCA, so a MiCA authorisation alone would not cover its main products.

The French AMF added blofin.com to its crypto-asset blacklist on 3 December 2024. The AMF publishes that list for sites that offer crypto-asset services in France without authorisation. We found no BloFin entry on the separate AMF blacklist for crypto-asset derivatives.

What BloFin’s terms say about EU users

The BloFin terms of use, in the version dated 3 July 2026, refer to the operator only as BloFin. Disputes go to arbitration in Hong Kong under Hong Kong law. The list of restricted locations includes the United States, Canada, Singapore, India, mainland China and the United Arab Emirates, but no EU or EEA state. The terms also say BloFin is not regulated by Dubai’s VARA.

EU residents can therefore open accounts under the terms, but they deal with a firm that holds no MiCA authorisation. They have no MiCA protection for custody, complaints or conflicts of interest. Any dispute goes to a three-member arbitration panel seated in Hong Kong, not to an EU court or regulator.

Article 61 of MiCA lets a non-EU firm serve an EU client only when the client starts the contact on their own exclusive initiative. A firm that markets its services to EU residents cannot rely on that exemption.

Common questions

Can I still use Blofin from the EU?

MiCA does not itself make account holding illegal. National and product rules can still apply. Since 1 July 2026, an in-scope provider generally needs an Article 63 authorisation or an eligible Article 60 notification route. Blofin can apply location restrictions or close user accounts.

Is money on Blofin protected under MiCA?

Blofin has no verified CASP authorisation. Do not assume that MiCA conduct, safeguarding or EU-regulator complaint rights apply to the service. Verify the contracting entity and any separate permissions.
